ABOUT US

How On Construction Energy Assessors llp can help?

We offer independant advice on how to meet the energy efficiency standards of Building Regulations and targets set by Local Authority Planners and the Code for Sustainable Homes to further reduce carbon dioxide emissions.  On Construction Energy Assessor llp is accredited by NHER to carry out "On Construction" SAP's in support of Building Regulations approval; we use NHER's plan assessor software.

We wil pass relevant documentation and certificates directly to Building Control Officers if required.  This saves you time, helps release any building control conditions that may apply, and provides one of the required components for compliant Home Information Packs.  We deliver all reports (including SAP reports, PEAs and EPCs) by e-mail saving you time and money.  All calculations are done off plan, so no site visits are necessary although assessors will maintain a regular dialogue with your team to ensure compliance is achieved.  We will also help you prepare for changes to the building regulations in 2010, and then subsequently 2013 and 2016 as the UK moves towards building all new homes to a Zero Carbon standard.

What is SAP?

The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) is the UK Government's methodology for the calculation of energy ratings for dwellings.  The SAP is used to determine a home's Dwelling Emission Rate (DER) and Target Emission Rate (TER) and compliance with the applicable legislation.  SAP is used to establish a dwelling's energy efficiency as displayed on an Energy Performance Certificate, which is mandatory on all property sales in accordance with the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

On Construction Energy Assessors offer a full range of energy rating services, including:

Predicted Energy Assessments (PEA)

The Predicted Energy Assessment (PEA)  summarises the SAP Assessment and is in a format which is easy to understand and looks similar to Energy Performance Certificates.

On Construction Energy Performance Certificate (OCEPC)

When the property is completed you will need to commission an On Construction Energy Performance Certificate.  The EPC is based on the 'as built' property and can only be completed once the property, or similar property has been subject to an 'Air Leakage Test'.
